Living Color Enterprises designed and built one of the largest FRP and Acrylic Aquariums in the world. Located in Guatemala City, Guatemala, the Nais Aquarium is home to a technological gem that astonishes huge crowds daily with its beauty and realism. There are a total of 15 different aquarium exhibits within the Nais Aquarium facility. The main aquarium exhibit  measures 40ft x 20ft x 7ft high and contains over 30,000 gallons of salt water. The entire aquarium was built  at our Ft. Lauderdale headquarters, then disassembled, shipped and resembled on site in Guatemala. This incredible habitat is home to over 450 fish representing 38 exotic species which includes sharks, stingrays and moray eels.

A relaxing lounge area showcases an amazing Sting Ray aquarium built right in the Floor! While a circular tank above the bar allows patrons to watch fast swimming Look Down fish race around the aquarium.

This amazing aquarium, includes a Marine Species Hospital, Quarantine Facility, Biology Lab and Nutritional Support Center. A team of marine biologists,and aquarium technicians work around the clock days to maintain this large aquarium facility. The three aquarium filtration systems designed and built by our Life Support System division keeps the aquarium water in optimum quality.

Scheels All Sports

Sparks, Nevada

Living Color is proud to have worked with ICM on the breathtaking aquariums at the Scheels All Sports store in Sparks, Nevada. The 248,000 square foot mega-store opened in September 2008, and  is the largest sporting goods store in the United States.

These beautiful custom archway aquariums, one freshwater and one saltwater are each over 43 feet in length. They hold a combined 32,000 gallons of water. Living Color was responsible for  the design, fabrication, and installation of the Life Support Systems, Lighting and Aquarium Decor for  the huge twin aquariums that grace the store.   The complex project took more than 2000 man-hours for Living Color to complete.

The Loxahatchee River Center

Visitors to the new Loxahatchee River Center are able to experience interactive exhibits and beautiful aquariums. One of the feature exhibits is an 1,800-gallon freshwater aquarium that was built to represent the wild and scenic Loxahatchee River. Another exhibit allows guests to see firsthand how a flood plain works by unleashing a rush of water into a tank. In another interactive display, visitors can  see how difficult it can be to balance water uses.

Living Color artists created a giant replica cypress tree with a built-in video screen to  greet visitors as they arrive. The River Centre takes guests on a mini-tour of the river’s habitats, starting with the cypress swamp and leading to estuaries with oyster reefs and mangroves, sea grasses, dock pilings and ending with coral reefs.

The tour includes various educational components, such as graphics to show visitors where their drinking water comes from. Among the other interactive exhibits at the facility is a touch tank where guests can interact with starfish, sea cucumbers, sea urchins, hermit crabs, snails and horseshoe crabs.

A large 1000 gallon  custom saltwater aquarium representing Jupiter Inlet is another exhibit that is very popular with visitors for its beauty and realism.

This amazing cylinder aquarium is among the tallest in North America and when full of water, it weighs over 83,000lbs. The stunning aquarium provides a focal point  in the corporate headquarters of  a major company. Living Color designed and built this one of a kind aquarium, which included a towering 26′ tall artificial reef structure with integrated plumbing. The impressive aquarium sits atop a specially engineered earthquake proof steel and concrete base. High intensity lighting, and a state of the art life support system located on the second floor above the aquarium are some of the other cutting edge features that we incorporated into the design. A glass elevator behind the aquarium allows you to enjoy the fishes as you ascend.

At 53′ long, this is one of the longest seamless acrylic aquariums on the East Coast of the United States.This 17,000 gallon oval FRP and Acrylic aquarium has uninterrupted viewing around its entire circumference. The turnkey aquarium project includes two remote LSS rooms located over 100 feet away which recirculate the system water every 10 minutes. Our realistic artificial reef structures, and specialty lighting complete this impressive aquarium project.

Allfish Emporium

Experience another Living Color creation at Allfish Emporium located in Tamarac, Florida.  You enter the fish room through a  tunnel framed by two fiberglass & acrylic 20′ L x 4′ D x 5′ H Bow Front Custom Aquariums containing 2,700 gallons of water each. Both freshwater and marine  aquariums contain realistic underwater themeing and numerous exotic fish species.

At the end of the tunnel lies a 12′ diameter x 6′ tall shark tank with a water volume of nearly 5,000 gallons. The aquarium with it’s Custom Artificial Coral decor showcases sharks, eels  and  other lurking predators  to create an attractive and exhilarating experience to captivate all who visit this amazing store. The Living Color team  also created the store’s custom waterfall and ponds as well as the life support systems for the hundreds of display and holding tanks within the facility.

Living Color is proud to have worked with The Environmental Learning Center in Vero Beach, FL on their exciting new Discovery Station Exhibit.  Living Color designed and built 4 custom aquarium exhibits and coordinating cabinetry surrounds for this exciting institutional aquarium and cabinetry project.  The main aquarium is a 950 gallon custom aquarium themed with life-like, museum quality artificial mangroves and fabricated mud banks.  Three smaller 110 gallon custom acrylic aquariums provide a realistic glimpse of sea grass and estuary habitats in Southern Florida.

Large Cylinder Shark Aquarium

This amazing aquarium is a popular focal point at the Coco Beach Surf Company. The shark tank is filled with sharks and other interesting local fish surrounding a gorgeous  center reef. This beautiful double-sided jellyfish “kreisal” aquarium is home to numerous Moon Jellyfish (Aurelia aurita).  A kreisal aquarium refers to the design of the tank in which there are uniquely designed inlets and outlets for the water. The laminar water flow keeps  the jellyfish suspended within the water column and the advanced aquarium design prevents damage to the fragile jellyfish.   Our Cabinetry Division built the fine custom cabinetry that surrounds the aquarium and bar.
